A panel inspired by woodcut prints depicting the Brazilian Northeast along its entire length, covering different historical periods. It begins with the coast, a rich and prosperous region marked by the slave-era sugarcane production, and moves inland, which is drier and more isolated. The artwork shows how climatic conditions have affected the local fauna and flora, as well as the daily lives of the people living in these areas.
It also highlights important historical moments, such as the cangaceiros, Padre Cícero, the War of Canudos, religious influence, and the cycle of life and death in this sertão, which remained isolated for a long time due to drought and neglect by the government.

TAPE PROJECT
In 2013, during the process of developing a more personal body of work, I began experimenting with different materials and surfaces, offering a new perspective on adhesive tapes: duct tape, silvertape, washi tape, electrical tape, and others.
From this experimentation, Tape Project was born –a series of artworks in various sizes, detail-rich pieces, formed by precise x-acto blade cuts and a vibrant color palette.
With every piece of tape, elements such as graffiti and cordel, woodcut and street art, pop and traditional, digital and handmade overlap – all coming together in an original and dynamic form of art.
